Feedback from other clubs:

Dear Mark

On behalf of Penrith Camera Club I would like to thank you very much for your  excellent and absorbing presentation to us on Wednesday evening.

The applause told me it had been an interesting & entertaining evening for everyone. You were able to keep us all enthralled & the time passed so quickly.

You made your wildlife encounters sound easy to photograph but could see the level of experience and time it has taken to build your collection. It was of interest to all to see the examples and your slideshow as well as hearing the patience and time involved to achieve the stunning photographs.   Sharing your techniques used for what makes a good image and where some of your pictures were photographed, showed the level of detail & flair you possess and am sure will inspire a number of our members to explore nature & wildlife photography further.

Hopefully you had a safe journey home.

Thank you again,

Yours sincerely,

Nicky Robley - Penrith Camera Club

Hi Mark,
Just wanted to say thank you sooo much for coming along to our club last night, everyone thought that your work & talk was “amazing” and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Many thanks
Janice - Lesmahago Camera Club

Hello Mark, really enjoyed your presentation at Hamilton Camera Club recently, images were first class. It was nice of you to share your experiences and how you captured these images in often difficult situations

Chris D - Hamilton Camera Club

Hi Mark   Livingston CC

On behalf of the camera club I would like to thank you for your wonderful presentation last night. The members really appreciated how you explained what made good nature shots and what didn't and were truly impressed with your dedication. Not many folk would spend hours lying in the frost!

Ruta Nicol - Livingston Camera Club

Hi Mark, Just to say that we really enjoyed your presentation at Airdrie and Coatbridge Photographic club. Your images were stunning and your relaxed presentation made for a great night. Thanks also for the tips on getting the best shots much appreciated.

Matt Gallagher - Airdrie & Coatbridge Photographic Club

A huge thanks for your presentation – “ truly stunning photographs”

I think what also impressed our club members was not just the research, preparation and planning that you do before you go out into the wilds – but the time and absolute patience that you give to ‘capturing’ that magic moment with wildlife. Inspirational.  Also liked the way you presented your workshop – setting your photos to music and bird song- captured the essence of your photographs, explaining how you get those photos and encouraging us to identify what was wrong with some of your photos and then finishing with a bit about the ‘memory’ behind a few of your photos.

Brilliant  evening and please let us know when you have more to show us as we would love to have you back!!

Jill Eastham - Eden Valley Camera Club

HI Mark

I hope you got home safely. On behalf of KPS, I would just like to thank you for your presentation and found it very interesting and informative. Giving members some insight into how you achieved your images and what settings you used on your camera was excellent. The other plus point was the interaction you allowed with the audience, this is not very common amongst our speakers. I was impressed that a lot of your images were truly “wild”, as we often get images where the animals are trained in their behaviour and so aren’t really wild.
I will let other programme secretaries in the area know about your talk.

All the best
Tom
 Stenhouse - Keswick Photographic Society

Hi Mark
Would just like to thank you for the superb presentation last night at Mid Calder Camera Club. We have been lucky during this years' session to have had some good speakers - but our members were inspired by your images and we have had few with such outstanding images. They now have something to aim for....I just felt I had to let you know how much they enjoyed it. Thank you again.
 - Margaret Lothian - Mid Calder Camera Club

Just a wee note to say I really enjoyed your talk at Ayr Photographic Society on Thursday evening. Your images are stunning. Thank you :-) Stephanie - Ayr Photographic Society

@photographised: @birdtracker Great talk at AyrPS last night Mark. Interesting, inspiring and loaded with fantastic images and commentary. Mark - Ayr Photographic Society

Fabulous tonight. Im not a nature photographer but i have been trying some stuff. Your presentation tonight has really inspired me.
I'm vice president and will be president next year, If its ok with you I would like to have you back at the club in my reign :-) as i know so many enjoyed tonight.
Karen Crawford
Vice President - Ayr Photographic Society

Good morning Mark,
Just wanted to say how much  I enjoyed your talk last night at Ayr photographic society. This is my first year at the club , and your talk was pitched just right for me , good technical information, beautiful images to aspire to and the knowledge that you can get some great images fairly close to home.
I was furiously writing down your tips and the locations so next time that I am out, I could to try put them into practice. I might even invest in some camo netting .
Anyway, thank you for your time, throughly enjoyed the whole evening, great night.

Kind regards

Scott - Ayr Photographic Society

Good evening Mark
Your presentation on Monday was exceedingly good and I have had many e mails from neighbouring clubs commenting on the fact that there members had a great night. All the mails commented on your very relaxed and and ‘open’ manner that you delivered your presentation and the fact that the kit you use is not outside the remit of most club members. Quite often  wildlife photographers are not prepared to share any information with their audience. It made a refreshing change.
I personally liked the fact that you told a little story about each image that was believable and you certainly captivated your audience with many magic images
I have sent your details to local clubs that did not attend on Monday in the hope that you may get further bookings – hope that is okay with you.
In the mean time very best wishes.

Barry Noon
President Blackburn & District Camera Club
President of the ICPA

Hi Mark

The members of Paisley Photographic Society enjoyed your talk immensely. In addition to the stunning images we saw in your Paisley Photographic SocietyPaisley Photographic Society  introductory AV sequence you engaged the audience in a debate on what makes a good nature photograph. You then finished up with a section showing your favourite photographs.

While your lecture was about nature photography the content and the way it was delivered appealed to all the members.

Kind Regards

Clive Turner - Paisley Photographic Society

Mark,
Many thanks for your excellent talk last night.  The quality of your images was superb and it as clear that they rely on a great deal of knowledge, preparation and patience.  We also greatly appreciated the segment of your talk where you explained how to get started into nature photography and also some of the techniques you use.  All told, an educational and inspirational evening.  Thanks again.
Bobby - Kirkintilloch Camera Club

Hi Mark
It was a brilliant evening - thanks for that! I particularly enjoyed the little tips and hints, but overall I'm really keen to try out some wildlife stuff.
On my way out on Tuesday several people had big smiles and had obviously really enjoyed your talk.
All the best and hope to meet again in the future.
Ruby -
Dunfermline Photographic Association

Hi Mark,

A quick note of appreciation on behalf of the members of Kilmaurs Photographic Club.

First of all, I've had many positive comments from the membership about your presentation last night and it truly has set them chattering in our closed FB page.

For me, the interesting parts were the bullet points to consider before venturing into photographing our wildlife and secondly, you putting a personal narrative on your favourite photos. This gave the images more meaning for me an quite a few others, rather than us just considering a set of potentially award winning pictures.

So many thanks for an outstanding presentation and best wishes for the future.

Jim Richmond - Kilmaurs Photographic Club

What an excellent night we had last night at club. Mark Medcalf Wildlife Photography presented wonderful wildlife images in an entertaining presentation which we all enjoyed. Thank you Mark! - Inverclyde Camera Club

Hi Mark
All members really enjoyed your presentation.  Your images were excellent without exception and your manner of presentation entertaining and very clear.  We would definitely have you back again in the future if you would like to visit!  - Ann-Marie Westwood - Inverclyde Camera Club

Dear Mark,

Re: Lecture on Wildife Photography.

On behalf of the President, Committee and members of Saltcoats Camera Club I would like to thank you for a most enjoyable and entertaining evening that we have had for some time. The members thought that your photographs were outstanding. You described how and at what time of
day they were taken, which most of us found fascinating. The club would be willing to invite you back at a later date.
Kind Regards
Jim Cotter
Secretary - Saltcoates Camera Club

Hi Mark I enjoyed your wildlife photos when visiting Saltcoats Camera Club on Wednesday night. Fantastic, you have gave me lots of encouragement for me to continue trying my best at wildlife photography. Thanks once again Big Alan.

Alan Pettigrew - Saltcoates Camera Club

Hi Mark, I was at the Skelmorlie Camera Club meeting this evening and am in awe of your beautiful wildlife photography. Your presentation was so engaging and so inspiring and has reminded me of the reason why I have a camera....I am excited to get on and do some research, network, find the right locations at the right time of the year for the right subjects....your list makes so much sense and will hopefully help me to improve my wildlife photography and maybe experience that great feeling of owning a winning shot! Thank you again,

Sincerely,

Caroline. Skelmorie Camera Club.

"Hi Mark,

Your presentation last night at SDCC  was excellent and was well received by our members. Your work reflects your love for the subject and your dedication to achieving perfect results which you displayed admirably at the club last night.
The level of questions and involvement from the audience was tremendous and I would like to thank you for your patience in explaining your craft.
I am sure you have inspired many of our members to have a go at wildlife photography.
Many thanks again for an entertaining and informative evening.

Bill McKenzie
President - Stirling & District Camera Club.

"Hi Mark, just another word of thanks for last night, you will no doubt be asked around the clubs and given your easy and competent manner of presentation it will be a good lecture for everyone..."

Ronnie Stokes.

"Hi Mark,

On behalf of Cowal Camera Club, I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure to meet you last night and to thank you for an excellent and informative lecture.

The format of the talk and the imagery presented to the club was absolutely wonderful. I know that everyone present was in awe of your obvious field craft and dedication. I can't remember the last time the members were so engaged, as evidenced by the number of comments and questions.

I'm sure you will have inspired more than a few to grab their cameras and get out and about.

All the best,

Andy Daw
Cowal Camera Club"

Hi Mark,
On behalf of Saltcoats Camera Club I would like to thank you very much for travelling up to see us and delivering such an engaging presentation.
The relaxed manner of the delivery of your production belies the meticulous planning, concentration and execution of your photography required to be able to present such outstanding images for us to enjoy.
I would like to wish you every success in the future and very much hope our paths cross again. With luck that'll be when you're taking photographs and I'm in possession of my camera.
All the very best,

Neil Gibson. Saltcoats Camera Club
