Feedback from other clubs:
On behalf of the camera club I would like to thank you for your wonderful presentation last night. The members really appreciated how you explained what made good nature shots and what didn't and were truly impressed with your dedication. Not many folk would spend hours lying in the frost!
Ruta Nicol - Livingston Camera Club
Hi Mark, Just to say that we really enjoyed your presentation at Airdrie and Coatbridge Photographic club. Your images were stunning and your relaxed presentation made for a great night. Thanks also for the tips on getting the best shots much appreciated.
Matt Gallagher - Airdrie & Coatbridge Photographic Club
A huge thanks for your presentation – “ truly stunning photographs”
I think what also impressed our club members was not just the research, preparation and planning that you do before you go out into the wilds – but the time and absolute patience that you give to ‘capturing’ that magic moment with wildlife. Inspirational. Also liked the way you presented your workshop – setting your photos to music and bird song- captured the essence of your photographs, explaining how you get those photos and encouraging us to identify what was wrong with some of your photos and then finishing with a bit about the ‘memory’ behind a few of your photos.
Brilliant evening and please let us know when you have more to show us as we would love to have you back!!
Jill Eastham - Eden Valley Camera Club
I hope you got home safely. On behalf of KPS, I would just like to thank you for your presentation and found it very interesting and informative. Giving members some insight into how you achieved your images and what settings you used on your camera was excellent. The other plus point was the interaction you allowed with the audience, this is not very common amongst our speakers. I was impressed that a lot of your images were truly “wild”, as we often get images where the animals are trained in their behaviour and so aren’t really wild.
I will let other programme secretaries in the area know about your talk.
All the best
Tom Stenhouse - Keswick Photographic Society
Would just like to thank you for the superb presentation last night at Mid Calder Camera Club. We have been lucky during this years' session to have had some good speakers - but our members were inspired by your images and we have had few with such outstanding images. They now have something to aim for....I just felt I had to let you know how much they enjoyed it. Thank you again. - Margaret Lothian - Mid Calder Camera Club
Just a wee note to say I really enjoyed your talk at Ayr Photographic Society on Thursday evening. Your images are stunning. Thank you :-) Stephanie - Ayr Photographic Society
@photographised: @birdtracker Great talk at AyrPS last night Mark. Interesting, inspiring and loaded with fantastic images and commentary. Mark - Ayr Photographic Society

Vice President - Ayr Photographic Society
Good morning Mark,
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your talk last night at Ayr photographic society. This is my first year at the club , and your talk was pitched just right for me , good technical information, beautiful images to aspire to and the knowledge that you can get some great images fairly close to home.
I was furiously writing down your tips and the locations so next time that I am out, I could to try put them into practice. I might even invest in some camo netting .
Anyway, thank you for your time, throughly enjoyed the whole evening, great night.
Scott - Ayr Photographic Society
Good evening Mark
Your presentation on Monday was exceedingly good and I have had many e mails from neighbouring clubs commenting on the fact that there members had a great night. All the mails commented on your very relaxed and and ‘open’ manner that you delivered your presentation and the fact that the kit you use is not outside the remit of most club members. Quite often wildlife photographers are not prepared to share any information with their audience. It made a refreshing change.
I personally liked the fact that you told a little story about each image that was believable and you certainly captivated your audience with many magic images
I have sent your details to local clubs that did not attend on Monday in the hope that you may get further bookings – hope that is okay with you.
In the mean time very best wishes.
President Blackburn & District Camera Club
President of the ICPA
The members of Paisley Photographic Society enjoyed your talk immensely. In addition to the stunning images we saw in your introductory AV sequence you engaged the audience in a debate on what makes a good nature photograph. You then finished up with a section showing your favourite photographs.
While your lecture was about nature photography the content and the way it was delivered appealed to all the members.
Clive Turner - Paisley Photographic Society
Many thanks for your excellent talk last night. The quality of your images was superb and it as clear that they rely on a great deal of knowledge, preparation and patience. We also greatly appreciated the segment of your talk where you explained how to get started into nature photography and also some of the techniques you use. All told, an educational and inspirational evening. Thanks again.
Bobby - Kirkintilloch Camera Club
It was a brilliant evening - thanks for that! I particularly enjoyed the little tips and hints, but overall I'm really keen to try out some wildlife stuff.
On my way out on Tuesday several people had big smiles and had obviously really enjoyed your talk.
All the best and hope to meet again in the future.
Ruby - Dunfermline Photographic Association
A quick note of appreciation on behalf of the members of Kilmaurs Photographic Club.
First of all, I've had many positive comments from the membership about your presentation last night and it truly has set them chattering in our closed FB page.
For me, the interesting parts were the bullet points to consider before venturing into photographing our wildlife and secondly, you putting a personal narrative on your favourite photos. This gave the images more meaning for me an quite a few others, rather than us just considering a set of potentially award winning pictures.
So many thanks for an outstanding presentation and best wishes for the future.
Jim Richmond - Kilmaurs Photographic Club
What an excellent night we had last night at club. Mark Medcalf Wildlife Photography presented wonderful wildlife images in an entertaining presentation which we all enjoyed. Thank you Mark! - Inverclyde Camera Club
Hi Mark I enjoyed your wildlife photos when visiting Saltcoats Camera Club on Wednesday night. Fantastic, you have gave me lots of encouragement for me to continue trying my best at wildlife photography. Thanks once again Big Alan.
Alan Pettigrew - Saltcoates Camera Club
Hi Mark, I was at the Skelmorlie Camera Club meeting this evening and am in awe of your beautiful wildlife photography. Your presentation was so engaging and so inspiring and has reminded me of the reason why I have a camera....I am excited to get on and do some research, network, find the right locations at the right time of the year for the right subjects....your list makes so much sense and will hopefully help me to improve my wildlife photography and maybe experience that great feeling of owning a winning shot! Thank you again,
Caroline. Skelmorie Camera Club.
"Hi Mark, just another word of thanks for last night, you will no doubt be asked around the clubs and given your easy and competent manner of presentation it will be a good lecture for everyone..."
On behalf of Cowal Camera Club, I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure to meet you last night and to thank you for an excellent and informative lecture.
