Doonfoot

Went out to the coast at Doonfoot, nr Ayr as the light was bright and clear. Had wanted to try out the new Wimberley head and found it rock solid to support the 500mm and 1D body.

Lesser Redpoll

Red

Notice this little redpoll all alone feeding on the grasses, The Winter plumage is gorgeous, showing off the red crest! All shots taken at 1/2500 @ f5.0.

Curluw Also the head panned smothly to get these flight shots of the curlews. Impressive piece of kit!

As always, excellent shots mark and I see that you have moved up to a Mk1 camera and a bigger lens. What processing package have you been using?
Thinking about the waxwing shots, nevermind the "Hello, hello, hello, hello!", when back in the UK in February I did not manage to find a single bird - albeit as soon as I got back everybody was bust emailing me about the birds residing for days within two minutes of our Stamford, Lincs house. No doubt they will all be gone by the time I get back for the second week of April; such is birding!
