Orkney - Short-eared Owls

Just got back from a few days visiting the Orkney Isles, well the main island really. I had wanted to visit somewhere that far North for a while and soi last week had the opportunity. I had got in touch with a local birder who kindly outlined some of the best sites on the main land. I realy wanted to get a close encounter with a Short-eared Owl as I have been trying for such an experience for over a year in different parts of the country, but to no avail. 

I did some wild camping so as to be on site as it were, so was up really early to get the shots. Anyway here are the results:
